Meister Hanuš, Matyáš Rejsek, Benedikt Ried, Meister Mikuláš for the city of Kutná Hora, Kuttenberg
St. Barbara in Kutná Hora/Kuttenberg was the city’s most important church and was built during the reign of Vladislav II Jagiello. It is a late Gothic edifice that documents the work of several architects. Originally devised as a five-isled cathedral with an exterior buttresses, Benedikt Ried added an additional gallery as wide as two aisles. This gallery serves as an independent hall separate from the rest/lower part of a cathedral. The vault was created after 1512, increasing late Gothic impression. Wall paintings decorate the chapels of the different guilds. They show both votive pictures and everyday/genre scenes.
